Dry Hair? Bring Back the Shine!

Salon Marjan is proud to carry the complete line of Kérastase products for your hair.  Now available- Kerastase Elixir Ultime Iconic Collection of Beautifying Treatment Oils.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime 24 Carat RegimineElixir Ultime 24 Carat Regimine was recently awarded Elle Magazine's Best of Beauty Award as "The Best Coveted Styler 2013".   Recommended for all hair types, it promotes cellular renewal with its anti-oxidant active ingredients to help restore strength to the hair and protect it from external aggressors. Elle editors recommend using it as a spot treatment to smooth ends overnight or as an overnight allover deep conditioner.

Elixir Ultime is a blend of 4 precious scented oils from around the world delivering nourishment, softness and radiance to your hair and leaving a divine and delicate fragrance.  Known in the business as "Liquid Gold", this is the product everyone should be using on a daily basis for high shine and high glamour.

Stop Frizzy Hair

Frizzy hair is caused by dryness.  Colorado winters, especially, can dry out your hair.  What can you do?  "Drink plenty of water and avoid products that contain alcohol." suggests Marjan.  "Now there's no excuse for hair that's always dull and never shiny."  Let the lasting power of Ultime Elixir smooth and nourish your hair to protect it from the elements.

"I was amazed how quickly my hair drank this up without ever looking or feeling greasy."  said blogger Angelica Catalano, YouBeauty.com  "A quick pump on dry hair gave me the instant gratification of seeing my coarse strands smooth out right before my eyes."

As a Leave-In Braid Treatment

A great way to pre-treat your hair before cleansing is to braid it with Elixir Ultimate just before going to bed to get extra nutrition to your hair.

"When my hair seems particularly dry and frazzled, I'll smooth three pumps of the oil through the lengths, then braid it and go to sleep. By morning, hair will be shiny and sleek: TV-commercial perfect." said Elle Beauty & Fitness Director, Emily Dougherty.

For a Sculpted Blow-Dry

Simply apply Elixir Ultime to your damp hair and style as usual for a sleek, sculpted look. Or use it as a Finishing Step to boost shine throughout the day.

"This has changed my hair-drying process FOREVER -it allows me to skip a major step in my styling process without sacrificing results. LOVE!"  writes Amber Katz, BeautyBloggingJunkie.com

The Holidays Remind Us to Give

SageStylist Patty Nichols has a heart of gold! She reminds us that while we are giving to friends and family during the holidays, it's also important to give to our community.

Patty and her rescue dog, Titus, will be making a holiday visit to the MaxFund Shelter this week.  MaxFund is a "no-kill" shelter, founded in 1989 by a local veterinarian, Bill Suro and his wife Nanci.

"I am very appreciative that Maxfund kept my boy, Titus, off of the streets and rescued him from an unkind individual a few years ago," says Patty.  She and Titus will deliver some much needed items to the shelter this week chosen from their Wish List.

The Maxfund Shelter's Wish List is up on the Amazon.com website which makes it easy to donate and have your gift delivered, or better yet, deliver it in person and stay for a little while to give some much needed attention to the animals at the shelter.

Another project close to Patty's heart is the Wounded Warrior Project"I am forever thankful for our military men and women," she says.  The Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001, and their families.

"The Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) takes a holistic approach when serving warriors and their families to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement." says the Mission Statement. "Through a high-touch and interactive approach, WWP hopes to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history."

This project is funded by the community through sponsors, grants and individuals like Patty.  There is no cost to the service members and their families who participate in the programs.  "There are no dues here -"states the WWP website, "those were paid by wearing the uniform and on the battlefield."

Invest in Your Neighborhood School

Sesión InformativaSalon Marjan is a proud supporter of our local Denver Public Schools (DPS).

DPS is in its third year of the AmeriCorps grant which strengthens relationships among schools, parents, community organizations and local businesses.

The after-school program at Grant Beacon Middle School offers students the opportunity to plan and implement a community service project in the area.  We feel it's important to teach children to give back to their community and set the goals for a lifetime of community service.

If you would like to learn more about this program and how you can get involved, go to www.dpsamericorps.wordpress.com or you can contact Roxanne Nice, Director of Program Services at 720-849-2473.

Providing a Hot Meal to Children

A great organization that touched our hearts is the St. Labre Indian School whose vision embraces Native American cultures and education to empower children to attain self-sufficiency.

kale soupThe values they teach their children are respect, excellence, integrity, stewardship, spirituality and justice.  At Salon Marjan, we respect those values and try to model these every day, personally and in our business goals.

Salon Marjan made a difference at St. Labre by providing money for hot meals and nutrition advice for the children.  "Diabetes has reached 'epidemic proportions' among Native Americans," stated Curtis Yarlott, Executive Director of St. Labre School. "In some tribes, half are afflicted."    The children learn about good nutrition and those lessons are filtering over to their families, so they fully understand how healthier eating leads to longer, better lives.

If you would like to learn more, go to their website at www.StLabre.org or you can reach them, toll-free, at 866-753-5496.
